While it’s appropriate to thank those who serve in the military, Glen Samuelson figured it was just as fitting to return the thanks to those who make service possible. He especially credits supervisor Tom Pfister for helping in his absence. “… I spent several weeks in Texas with the 116th Engineering Battalion as they trained and prepared for their tour of duty in Iraq,” Samuelson said. “While I was gone, my supervisor Tom Pfister stayed in contact with my family and myself via e-mail. My wife would sometimes call him with a question regarding an ITD issue, and he was very helpful. “Because of this, and his attitude toward my requirements for military duty, I submitted his name for a Patriotic Employer award through the National Committee for Employer support of the guard and Reserve.” Samuelson presented a framed certificate to Pfister during a brief ceremony at the Bridge Design office in Boise. |
