Pam Lowe, Administrator of the ITD’s Division of Motor Vehicles since August 2004, announced this week she is leaving the position to join her husband who accepted a new job in Italy. Under her leadership, DMV has begun the process of evaluating current computing deficiencies and identifying options for a new computer system. Plowing new ground isn’t a new pursuit, however. Lowe became the first female district engineer in Idaho when she was chosen to lead District 3 in December 2000. Lowe is accustomed to the challenges of rapid change and progress. District 3 encompasses the state’s largest population centers, areas of fastest growth and some of the transportation system’s most pressing needs. ITD Director Dave Ekern reluctantly accepted Lowe’s resignation Wednesday (March 22). “It is with real regret that I must acknowledge your resignation,” he wrote. “You have made many significant and long-lasting contributions to the department, transportation, and the people of Idaho. Your leaving will be a loss to all of us.” Lowe plans to leave May 1. Published 3-24-06 |
