Afraid of speaking in public? Intimidated by audiences? Need help organizing and presenting information?
Formed in 1924, Toastmasters International has helped millions of men and women become more confident in front of an audience. Its mission is to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which all members have the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills, which, in turn, fosters self-confidence and personal growth. Toastmasters participants learn how to conduct meetings, give impromptu speeches, present prepared speeches, and both give and accept constructive evaluations. Because of its emphasis as a service provider, ITD increasingly relies on effective communications with others. Toastmasters will provide an excellent opportunity to begin refining those skills. For more information about the initial meeting or joining the international organization, contact organizer Julie Gray at 334-8480. ITD districts may wish to form their own clubs.
