Women engineers ready to answer questions

Do you have a question related to engineering? Ask a woman in the field.

To celebrate National Engineers Week (Feb. 18-24) and to highlight the role women play in engineering, the National Academy of Engineering has launched “Ask an Engineer.” Available through its “EngineerGirl!” Web site, the program provides the opportunity to e-mail questions and receive answers from women engineers.

During the week, professional and educational organizations collaborated to raise awareness of engineering’s benefit to society and to promote education in math, science and technology.

The engineering academy is a division of the National Academies along with the National Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Medicine, the National Research Council and the Transportation Research Board.
