Director engages ITD employees in series of meetings
The Employee Outreach Spring 2008 series began in April when Lowe met with employees in District 2. A meeting with District 4 employees followed in Twin Falls early this week. Lowe and Chief Engineer Steve Hutchinson visited the Bridge and Right-of-Way sections Wednesday (June 5). The remainder of the week included visits to:
“These meetings provide an opportunity for two-way exchange,” Lowe explains. “It is important that we share with employees decisions and discussions that relate directly to their jobs. It is equally important that we (administrators) have a chance to hear from employees – to continue dialogue about their needs and insights. “The meetings are very informal, the agenda is employee-driven and attendance is optional. We really hope employees will take advantage of the meetings so we can learn from each other. Communication is essential to working efficiently as a team.” The next round of meetings in Boise will take place in July, beginning with Enterprise Technology Services and Aeronautics, both on July 8, followed by: July 29: Planning, Design, Environmental, Communications, Internal Review, Legal, BPIR (Budget, Policies and Intergovernmental Relations), and Financial Services. July 30: Division of Motor Vehicles (Driver Services, Vehicle Services and Commercial Vehicle Services). July 31: Business Support (Supply/Purchasing/Printing, Mail Room and Building Services), Employee Safety, Human Resource Services/HR Development, and Equal Employment Opportunities. Lowe and other ITD administrative leaders will travel to the District 3 office Tuesday (June 10), District 1 in Coeur d’Alene on Sept. 4, District 6 in Idaho Falls on Aug. 4 and District 5 in Pocatello on Aug. 5.
