D-3 employees save lids to save lives

Last year, District 3 contributed nearly 536 Yoplait yogurt lids to the company’s national “save lids to save lives” campaign. In the D-3 effort this fall (the campaign ended Dec. 29), district employees contributed 644 lids to the Breast Cancer effort.

According to the company’s Web site, each lid donated translates to a 10-cent donation to the local Susan G. Komen affiliate. They guarantee a total donation of at least $500,000.

“District 3 personnel try to stay healthy, so eating yogurt was a given,” said district Wellness Coordinator Althea Fackrell. “Giving back to the community: priceless.”

Next year, District 3 may team with Headquarters in the effort, and other ITD districts are encouraged to participate as well.
